EGREMONT HOUSE

The extension is designed to blend seamlessly with the original structure while incorporating modern elements. By using the same materials—brick and clay tile—we maintain the house's character but configure them in a contemporary way to refresh the overall look.  A new triangular chimney will provide a feature fireplace within the existing part of the house, echoing the forms of the new elements. This design choice creates a cohesive connection between the old and new areas, enhancing the property's aesthetic appeal.

We utilized 3D modelling to present the design rationale to the local planning authority. This approach provided clear insight into the building's final appearance, facilitating the approval process and ensuring that the design met all necessary criteria.

The first-floor extension features vaulted high ceilings, creating a sense of spaciousness. Additionally, wrap-over glazing around the extended form allows generous amounts of natural light to flood the new spaces, enhancing the living environment.  We also paid close attention to details such as concealed gutters, subtly upgrading the building's appearance and creating a contemporary addition to this family home. These refined touches ensure the extension is not only functional but also visually appealing.
